SubscriberHello,
I received a message "Graphics device is not compatibility with Discovery." after I installed Discovery Ultimate 2020R1 by using "DISCOVERY_ULTIMATE_2020R1_WINX64.zip".
This means "all of Discovery product such as SpaceClaim or Live does not support this device" OR "only Discovery Live does not support this device" ? If it is for Live, would you append "Live" in this message ?
Our customer received same message, and they asked us "Intel graphics chip was not supported on Discovery SpaceClaim 2020R1? 2019R3 worked fine without any problems. Do we need to change machine?".Then, a description "Use of integrated graphics (e.g. Intel HD/IRIS) is not recommended." is on this site "https://discoveryforum.ansys.com/t/801xrx/". On the other hand, a description "ANSYS Products (other than Discovery Live), Windows Platforms: Discrete graphics card with the latest drivers and compatible with the supported operating systems. For full functionality, use of a recent NVIDIA Quadro or AMD Radeon Pro card with at least 1 GB of discrete video memory and supporting, at a minimum, OpenGL version 4.5, DirectX 11, Shader Model 5.0." is on ANSYS document "Graphical Display: Graphics Card Requirements and Cards Tested".
As a conclusion, a customer who uses the Intel graphics may have not-full functionality of SpaceClaim or AIM ?Thanks in advance,
Ichiro

Ansys EmployeeTo address your query let me start by addressing the Hardware requirements page.
- The "General requirements" address the minimum hardware requirements to run any Discovery Product (SpaceClaim and AIM)
- The "Discovery Live Graphics Requirements" refer to the additional graphics requirements required to run Discovery Live.
Once the installation of Discovery Ultimate is complete the 'Discovery Live compatibility checker' runs automatically which give out the pop up which you see. That message is meant or Discovery Live.
Thank you for pointing out that it does not mention "Discovery Live" and mentions only "Discovery".
I will notify the developers about this. Now, as we do not recommend integrated graphics such as Intel for any Discovery Product, we would recommend you to go for a dedicated graphics as mentioned in the Hardware requirements page.
