SubscriberI want to run the the ansys example of optimizing a 2d grating coupler on a linux cluster.
https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042800573-Inverse-Design-of-Grating-Coupler-2D-
But I can't find any good guidance as to how you execute the python script. It would be nice if someone could guide me to where I can find some info on running optimization scripts on a cluster.

Ansys EmployeeHi Nicholei,
The optimization or API scripts are part of our CAD/GUI environment and are run from the Lumerical CAD/GUI and will take up a GUI license to run.
>>> Lumerical product components and licensing overview – Ansys Optics
This will require a GUI connection on the cluster to open the CAD and run the scripts.
>>> Lumerical job scheduler integration configuration (Slurm, Torque, LSF, SGE) – Ansys Optics
>>> Job scheduler submission scripts (SGE, Slurm, Torque) – Ansys OpticsConsult with your IT/cluster admins to run the Lumerical CAD/GUI on your cluster for running Lumerical optimzations/scripts.
Check out our Knowledge Base (KB) for more information on running Lumerical on HPC or on premise clusters.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
