I was modelling to get S-parameters for metasurface. For this, I employed two ports. In the port setting the source is either fundamental, TE or TM. However, I have to calculate s-parameters for the incident field propagating in the z-direction with EF in x-direction. How to apply this EF for S-parameter in Lumerical?

      Hi Keshav,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am currently working on your question, meanwhile you might find helpful information in this article: Metamaterial S parameter extraction

      Hi Keshav,

One solution for your case might be to right click on the port and edit it. On the modal properties you then can rotate the mode as you like.

      Did this help?

      Regards,

      Niki

      Dear Niki,

This is my published work (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0030401820300493#:~:text=The%20FoM%20is%20calculated%20as,2464.615%20as%20seen%20in%20Fig.).

I wish to replicate this through numerical. Here I calculate S-parameters, where plane wave x-polarized EF is incident on the z-direction to the metasurface. For this to replicate

how can I apply plane wave x-polarized EF.

I observe for S=Parameter, the y-axis is not marked, what the y-axis represents?

      How I will extract S11, S12, S21, and S22 as s-parameter plot shows only 2 linear profiles.

Right-clicking the port and selecting “Edit” could be the answer to your problem. The mode can be flipped around using the modal attributes. wordle today
