Ansys EmployeeHi
That is upto the user.
You might know how much to use based on your application (say due to manufacturing imperfections as an example) but that is up to you again.
All the best

SubscriberI once had a similar problem to solve. I took from the codes the maximum allowable manufacturing tolerance (in my case a non-circularity of a cylindrical tank, 1.5%) and then did a sensitivity study where I showed the influence of this choice on the result, from 0.5% to 3%. Don't forget also to look at whether mode number 1 gives the most conservative result.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation. Click here to join this event to learn how to leverage Ansys Fluids on the cloud, thanks to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS.
