Hi, does anyone know how do I identify the value to use for scale factor when I want to conduct nonlinear buckling analysis

      Hi

      That is upto the user.

You might know how much to use based on your application (say due to manufacturing imperfections as an example) but that is up to you again.

      All the best

      Erik

I once had a similar problem to solve. I took from the codes the maximum allowable manufacturing tolerance (in my case a non-circularity of a cylindrical tank, 1.5%) and then did a sensitivity study where I showed the influence of this choice on the result, from 0.5% to 3%. Don't forget also to look at whether mode number 1 gives the most conservative result.
