Setting Demagnetization Computations

      Hello!

I am trying to set demagnetization computations in my model, and I already follow the instructions from the Help guide, from pages 980 to 985.

When I try to run the Target model, already connected to the source model, I have the following error:

[error] Maxwell2d solver, process solver2d error: Internal Solver Error: ' Map source design 'solvedhc' file onto target mesh failed! '.

Could you help with this? The information regarding the 'solvedhc' file is very scarce on the web.

Additionally, with this tool I am trying to simulate the effect of the permanent demagnetization of the permanent magnets of a motor after a short circuit. Could you help me with in which of the models (source or target) I should introduce the short circuit current?

      Thank you for any help!

      Best Regards,

      Marcelo

Hi, could you tell me which version that you are using?
Here are couple suggestions for demagnetization computations:
geometry must be identical between source design and target design.
is there any non linear material? If yes, how is the BH curve defined?
use vector potential=0 boundary condition instead of balloon boundary.

      Hi!
      I am using the version 2020 R2.4
The geometries are similar, I just copied the source to create the target and then modified as specified in the Help manual.
Yes, in fact I have two non linear materials. One is the hard magnetic material for the PM, and the other is the soft magnetic material for the magnetic circuit of the motor. Regarding the question about how are the BH curve defined for this material I do not know how to answer it in a specific way, so I will just attached one print screen of the BH Curves in this answer.
I defined the boundary condition in exactly that way. But additionally, because I am simulating only half of the machine I also have a Master and one Slave.

Thank you so much for helping me with this!

Which are you using for magnetic field simulations, ANSYS Maxwell,?
Is there a version for students, I don'f find in https://www.ansys.com/academic/students

HI @MDSilva, could you share a screenshot of the magnet field result from the source design? Is that saturated?

      Hi!
      Thank you so much!
,yes I am using the ANSYS Maxwell, and I do not think my version is not for students.
,sorry I cannot share the design that I am working with. But because I am trying to simulate the effect of the permanent demagnetization of the permanent magnets of a motor after a short circuit, during the short circuit the saturation is quite high. The highest points are around 4T.
