shrinking of a tube

      hello everyone,


      I'm trying to shrink this 3D cylinder in fluent:



      I would like a complete closure of the cylinder maintaining the same thickness. Do you have some suggestion for the dynamic mesh?

      I want to simulate this along all the shape of the tube:



      i would like to pass from the design 1 to the design 2 and then again to design 1

      Yes, that's possible. Have a read through of the Moving Mesh section of the Fluent manual, I think you're looking at rigid body motion and remeshing. Note, the inner diameter cannot become zero as you must maintain the same topology. 


      You will probably need a full tet mesh, and I'd suggest refining the mesh.

      It may also be possible to use layering in 2d axi-symmetric which would be much quicker depending on the rest of the model.

      thanks a lot for the answer but can you explain to me what I need to set inside the dynamic mesh and the boundary condition? Because my setting doesn't work and displays "not found zones face" or " negative volume" and I cannot understand why!
