#### simulate a dynamic load with a static calculation.

hello,

@peteroznewman I have a question, I simulate a dynamic load but with a static calculation.

The truck carries an articulated arm and it will pass over the retarders so I have to do a calculation on my arm, so to get back to a static calculation I just have to apply a force that equals the mass multiplied by the acceleration of the truck, but I didn't know where I'm going to put this force and that's how much mass I have to take, knowing that the arm is embedded in the truck on one side and on the other side there's a point force.

here is the picture below , this picture is on adams just to show you all the mechanism but I only simulate the arm on workbench

nWhat flexibility is in the ADAMS model?nIf you put an accelerometer on the frame of a real truck where the arm would bolt and drove the truck over the speed bumps, you could use the acceleration data to load the arm in a transient structural model.n

I have already recovered the acceleration and now I have to do a static and not transient anlysis, so I have to apply a force equal to the mass multiplied by the acceleration I got stuck at the level of the mass I have to take, the mass of the whole mechanism. nthank youn

nApply an Acceleration Load. You will find that under the Inertial category in a Static Structural analysis.nAll the parts have mass. The acceleration load will generate a force on the mass. nA few faces must have Fixed Support. That will generate a reaction force.nn
