SubscriberHello,I'm trying to simulate SMA two-way memory effect with thermal effect. I've checked the Simulation of a Spinal Spacer Implant, but I found it seems to be a one way memory effect.
I wanna know how to simulate two-way memory effect with thermal effect in ANSYS.
Is it possible to perform a Shape Memory Alloy Shape Training in ANSYS.
Any advice will be appreaciated.😀

Ansys EmployeeI assume by the '...Spinal Spacer Implant...', you are referring to Chapter 40 of the MAPDL Technology Showcase example.
Is there something specific about that documented workflow that is not working as expected for your application?

SubscriberThanks for your reply.
You’re right and I am referring to Chapter 40 of the MAPDL Technology Showcase example.
The shape of the spinal spacer recovered because of heating in this example, but when the temperature decreases, the shape of the spinal spacer doesn’t change.
I wanna make the SMA recover its original shape when heated and turn back into the shape before heated when cooled.
