SMART function with Semi-Elliptical crack

Hi,
I'm studying failures due to semi-elliptical crack in a pipeline under cyclical pressure load for fatigue.
Is it possible to use SMART tool to see the propagation of the crack in both directions, longitudinal and perpendicular?
