I have meshed a 3D model of a butt weld via. submerged arc welding. The mesh were generated by sweeping the square volumes with quadrilateral elements and using triangular elements in the weld. I want to refine/smoothen the transition between quadrilateral elements and triangular elements. The mesh are seen below together with the areas where refinement is needed (marked with red)

you will need to increase size of tet elements or reduce size of hex elements.
please see help manual on definining sizing.
also check following for sizing.
