SubscriberHi All,
I am having a snap problem using Hex elements. I am facing some initial penetration, its solving almost 50% and then I am facing element formulation error, I found out that this is due to the initial penetration of the model, I tried using Augmented lagrange with Stiffness factor as 10, Still i am getting some penetration, its stopping, Same thing I tried with Normal Lagrange as well. the result is the same. The image shown at the bottom is of normal lagrange. Any idea how to solve this. I am getting convergence in tet mesh. I wanted to try with Hex elements to reduce computational time. Also to avoid the difference of Stress distribution in unaveraged and averaged. Can anyone help?

Ansys EmployeeHi @Sundar_Ram,
The video shared by Erik will be really helpful for you in setting the contact properly. Please go through it.
Also, you can try to use other detection methods (nodal detection method) and see if it helps.
Thank you,
Akshay Maniyar
