SubscriberI have been trying to sort this out for days now, and am no futher foraward.
All i want to do is update my software, Spaceclaim.
Been told cant use my exisiting Gmail account, has to be a company account, so setup Office@luffman.uk, but Ansys still dont seem to have removed the luffmaneng@gmail.com from the system.
where should i download the software from?
should i install before assigning licence?
how do you assign the licences?
All this was so much easier with a dongle.

Forum ModeratorHello Ian,
I can see that you have Ansys Discovery Modeling (Named User) but it is not assigned to you yet. Please follow the steps mentioned below to do so:
First, go to your Ansys account Administration page. Please use Office@luffman.uk email address to login.
myaccount.ansys.comGo to your Administration tab. Once on the Administration tab:
Click the box next to your name and click the Assign button. A menu will appear, check the box next to the subscription you want to assign, then click Assign.
It may take a minute or two for this to finalize.
Then, that subscription will show up in your My Subscriptions page, and you will be able to activate your Discovery software (once you have it installed)Then, please go to Discovery Downloads - Ansys Knowledge
Click the Download Discovery Products.
On that Download page, click Disocvery ''Full package'' to start downloading the install package.
Unzip the resulting folder. In the Unzipped version of the folder, run the "setup.exe" installer.
When you get to the install menu, click "Install Ansys Products." During the install process, make sure you select the Single user subscription option. Complete the installation.
When the installation completes, go to launch Discovery. You will be prompted for your Ansys account log-in (the same as myaccount.ansys.com).
Enter that and you should be all set.Regards,
Devendra

SubscriberHello,
Confused, is Discovery a replacement for Spaceclaim? as all we use, and pay for, is Spaceclaim, current version we are on is 2021.2.0.06011.
I see on the download page, it has Discovery full package, or Spaceclaim, and also we have two seats of Spaceclaim, so should there be two seats of Discovery?
I assume if we should be using Discovery its the same to use as Spaceclaim?
Regards Ian

Forum ModeratorHello Ian,
Ansys Discovery is the new gen geometry prep tool from Ansys, with progressive user interface and provides improved geometry robustness. Using Discovery Model mode is same as SpaceClaim with some enhaced capabilities. New developements and enhancements will be their in Disocvery.
Ansys Discovery Modeling Package includes both Discovery and SpaceClaim. I can see you also have Ansys SpaceClaim (Named User) but TECS for it has expired on 09/23/2022, so you won't be able to use SpaceClaim versions released after this date.
Regards,
Devendra

SubscriberHello,
So sorry, i dont mean to be rude, but can i have just yes or no,
Is there 2 seats of the software currently avalable?
Are the licences available for these 2 seats?
Is Spaceclaim faster without the Discovery section?
Is Spaceclaim going to stop being a stand alone product?
