SpaceClaim drawing settings

      Hi,

      1) I added a Note with "Insert Field" method (XXX icon inside the Note pop up window) to my drawings. How can I quickly set e.g. the Titles for different drawings separately? If I select the file top of the Structure Tree, I can type in the Properties panel (e.g. to Title cell) but this information will appear on all drawings. It would be good to set these Properties for each drawing sheets separately. For many drawings it is a time consuming procedure to open the sheets and add a Note one-by-one (without the Insert Field method).

      2) How to change the line colours to black inside the drawing space by one click? I used to select the bodies inside the drawing sheet, then go to Display tab Color setting but it can be time consuming.

      3) How to display lineweights inside the drawings space?

      Regards,
      Tamas

      Hello Tamas

      1. You can create a Note in the template and right-click to select the symbol as shown in below image.

This will allow you to set a parameter to display.
For example, Clicking on 'Drawing 1' as shown in the below image will suggest the parameter 'Name'.
Selecting this will display the name in the Note.

      2. Unfortunately, there is no other way but to manually change the colour here. You can post this idea in the Ideas section and our developers will consider adding it in the upcoming versions.

      3. Lineweights in Drawing sheets can be adjusted from the SpaceClaim Options> Detailing> General. Scrolling down you will find the line weight options.

      Dear Subashni

      Thank you.

      1) I did it now but when I rename "Drawing1", the Note does not update automatically.

It would be great to set Properties for each drawings separately (same way as for the File, see bottom left on the first picture in my original post). In this case one could click on a drawing and a Properties panel could appear on screen with the rows e.g. Creator/Description/Last modified by/Revision/Title etc. Now when I click on the Drawing in the Structure Tree, the Properties panel is blank.

In reality when many drawings (not sheets!) belong to a model (and to different parts in a model), there may be different Creators/Revisions/Titles etc. separately for each drawing. (A drawing can consist of multiple sheets. In this case it is obvious that each sheet has the same e.g. Title or Creator).

Summary: It would be good that one can set Properties specific for each drawing with the intelligent, self-updating Note (I mean with the XXX-symbol, which you mentioned too). It would be good that if I want to give another drawing a different name, I just open the Properties specific to that Drawing and I type in a new name in the Title row. Now it does not make much sense to set Properties for the File itself (and not for the drawing/sheet) and to display these Properties with the intelligent Note, because these Properties will appear on all drawing templates.

By the way how can I add another Drawing to the Structure tree? I can add only Drawing Sheets in File>New.

      2) Okay.

      3) I know that. But can I somehow already display the configured lineweights in the Drawing space? I don't want to print the drawings just to see the correctness of the lineweights.

      Regards,
      Tamas

      Hello Tamas

It is currently not possible to add new Drawings to a Design. You can only add multiple sheets. You can post this idea as well in the Ideas section.

The line weights are reflected on the Drawing sheet, is there any issue you face with regard to this? Can you please share a screenshot so that I can understand it better?
If you would like to check how they would turn up in print, you can check the Print preview before printing.

      Hello Subashni

Drawings: Okay I will do so. And what about this?: " I did it now but when I rename "Drawing1", the Note does not update automatically."

Lineweights: In the drawing space (not in printed PDF) there is only one lineweight displayed for all lines (see first screenshot). But in case of printing it can be seen that the arrows and drawing frames have bigger thickness (see second screenshot). The question was: Can I somehow turn on the lineweights in drawing space (like in AutoCad there is a "Show/Hide Lineweights button for this)? Then it would be easier to check the lineweights inside the drawing space instead of always clicking on Print->Print preview...

      Hello Tamas

I apologise for the delayed response.

      1. To update the note you will need to right-click on it and click the "XXX" icon again.

      2. You can change the line weight of the geometry from SpaceClaim Options as mentioned in my previous comment. Please ensure that under Display Tab> Show, you have 'Lineweights' checked. (refer image)

Subashni thank you for your answers

        1) Okay, thanks, but it does not seem like such intelligent then. I except to that I could modify this note with only renaming the drawing sheet in the structure tree. This right-clicking is a unnecessary step in my opinion. For example if I insert a Note regarding to the Scale, everytime I modify the Scale the Note updates automatically (without having to right-click on the note again), so this is intelligent.

        2) Thank you!
