SubscriberI'm currently completing a parametric study using space claim block recording to change the geometry each time, however I'm wanting to have a script that goes through all the .scdm files and saves them as a .stl. Is there any way to do this as whenever I try the block recording stops the script from working.

SubscriberHello,
If you want to look for scripting, check this section: https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v222/en/spaceclaim/Discovery/user_manual/scripting.html
Else, for conversion of files into different format, check this: https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v222/en/spaceclaim/Discovery/user_manual/importing_and_exporting.html
Thank you

SubscriberThank you for them but the issue is that the geometries that are made are being saved as a .scdm automatically in the project with the block recording varying the parameters in the geometry; but as well as this I want it to automatically save as an .stl using a script, because I've got hundreds of design points. However the script won’t work while block recording is active so is there a way to overcome this?

SubscriberHi,You may convert a file by saving it as an STL when block recording is enabled. Block recording and scripting cannot be used concurrently; choose one or the other. In Ansys2022 R2, I attempted to save a file as an STL using block recording. Why are you converting.scdm to stl, just out of curiosity?Thank you
