SubscriberIs it possible to make a spaceclaim script that selects component bodies instead of indexes? For example, I had a script that would select individual components of a car and create a domain, then give them named selections. However, the script had a body or face select for 'part5' or 'face29'. Any geometry changes to the original cad model destroys this indexing and I want to use the part names themselves. How do I do this?

Forum ModeratorHello,
Please refer this article on How to select all bodies in the design from within a SpaceClaim script.
Let me know this helps. Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeAre the names for bodies unique and will stay the same despite geometry changes? Are you able to bring the names of bodies and components to SpaceClaim from your CAD? If yes, you should be able to loop through the components and bodies to get the required bodies based on their names. Please also take a look at PowerSelection API in the SpaceClaim scripting documentation https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/Secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v231/en/spaceclaim/Discovery/user_manual/scripting.html.
