A direct numerical simulation (DNS) of the turbulent flow around a circular cylinder (based on the diameter of the cylinder, D, and the inflow velocity, U). The dimensions of the computational domain are 75D × 75D × piD in the stream-wise, cross-stream and span-wise direction, respectively is given to me as a problem statement and also I want to create 32 planes in the span-wise direction.
I want to know that how can I generate spanwise BC condition for the simulation, X-direction flow direction, Y- transverse direction, Z- spanwise, and setting it to 'pi' means what and also the 32 planes do refer to periodic planes in z-direction?

In that case, I would suggest creating the planes while creating the geometry. For the spanwise boundary condition, use the appropriate geometry to select the BC.
