SubscriberI have a Mixing Case. Liquid Liquid Dispersion, Water(continuous phase), Gasoline(dispersed phase)
Note: Both Phases at the inlets are continuous and after going through the mixer Gasoline becomes dispersed in the water.
I want to capture This Process ( Breakage) and Predict the Max Diameter of Drops in the flow.
I am currently using the Eulerian method to capture the multiphase nature of the flow and k~e for Turbulence.
Questions
1. How to Capture the Breakage from continuous to disperse for Gasoline?
2. How to Find the Maximum Drop Diameter and Distribution of Drops? -

Ansys EmployeeWith the Eulerian multiphase model you'll see the second phase disperse (or rise/sink) depending on the set up. For break up or agglomeration you'll need population balance.

SubscriberThank You So much for your answer. could you please expand on what you mean by the settings and the rise/sink? I will upload mine.
I want to emphasize that the gasoline is first a continuous phase and then turns into dispersed after passing through the mixer.
keeping that in mind, isn't the population balance method for a condition that we have droplets at the inlet and we define them from the inlet (Which we don't have in this case)? am I wrong?

Ansys EmployeeThe Eulerian second phase has a diameter which is either fixed or can vary if using population balance or some other phase change mechanism: each diameter is a different phase if you don't use population balance. What did you set for the phase properties?
