Stl File Setup

  Hi everyone
  I have uploaded the geomentry to workbench (stl file). Does anyone know how to setup the mesh of the model or boundaries?

  If you want to generate Fluid mesh, please use Fluent Meshing to generate volume mesh using STl files. You can check following video.

    What is fluid mesh actually? I have used Autodesk CFD before and this is my first time to use Ansys. I just want make something like this.

  If you want to use Fluent, you will need to extract fluid volume and create mesh for fluid volume. You can also check Discovery option.

    I don’t actually know the difference between fluent and other functions. In this case which one would suit the best for my stl model. Btw where is the latest mannual? I only got the 2018 one.

  Please update to latest. 2018 is not supported.
  Please go through basic Fluent tutorials.
  Please go through help manual for more details

  Please go through tutorials for meshing. You are using Ansys Meshing. And you are trying to mesh solids. You do not have fluid volume. You need to create fluid volume in SpaceClaim. For this geometry you need to use Fluent Meshing Fault Tolerant Workflow. Also if you are using student version then you are limited to 512K cells. This geometry will need lot more than that. Please use some simple geometry first and try some tutorials.
