Strange results : static pressure higher than total pressure

      Hi !

      I study the fluid sloshing on a cylindrical tank composed by water (radius 10m, height 12.5m, height of fluid surface 5m).
      I use a sampleprofile transient as a translational velocity on my fluid on the X direction to simulation a seism.
      I want to export the total pressure on my tank, however on CFD-post, the static pressure is higher than the total pressure...

      Hi, 


      Please check if you are using local or global range. 


      Also please calculate it using calculators --> function calculator and then compare.

      Hi,


       


      Static pressure cannot be bigger total pressure as it is the sum of dynamic head and static pressure head (gauge+reference pressure). Please check your post-processing and attach some screenshots.

      My post-processing comes down to watch the total pressure in CFD-Post without using any udf.

      Can you please check it in Fluent directly and tell me which pressure interpolation are you using?

      Hello,


      I checked your pictures and as abenhadj said, the static pressure cannot be higher than the total pressure. What you're plotting there is the hydrostatic pressure in a tank ( I assume) and it does look equal to total pressure (the contour might show higher top value) but I bet that the Pressure total is not higher than the hydrostatic pressure.
