Stresses affected in beam by introducing bodies at a long distance

  I'm running a pretty simple study in explicit dynamics with the autodyn solver where I'm detonating a cylindrical charge of TNT to observe stresses on a cantilever beam. The results seem fine, however, when introducing a second cantilever at much further standoff distance, the maximum stress in the first part can be affected massively both positively and negatively before any response is observed in the second beam.
  
  Does anybody know why this happens?
  
  edit: The mesh in the original beam and explosive are identical between studies
