Surface energy of solid materials

      Hi all,

I was wondering if one can change the surface energy of solid materials in Ansys Fluent. I would like to increase the surface energy of Aluminum to make surface wetting possible when simulating with small water volumes.

I don't want to change the contact angles in the wall boundary condition but rather achieve surface wetting by changing surface energy of my metal. Also: I cannot find the surface energy value set for Aluminum in fluent.

      Hello,

You can try rasing the temperature of the solid either by fixing the temperature of the solid to a high value or applying the thermal BC (temperature or heat flux) to the solid wall to a higher value.

Thanks for your reply! But what is the surface energy of Aluminum in Ansys fluent by default? I cannot find it. And does using other metals (e.g. Nickel) automatically change the surface energy to the correct value which corresponds to the material?
