Surface Hardening Detail

  Hi Everybody
  How to assign surface hardness to part in ansys ? For example ; There is Ø60 shaft and the distribution of the hardness is like that. Surface hardness is 55 HRc (From surface to 9mm) and The core is 42 HRc.

  Hi, Yes I agree the easiest is maybe to model a coated sample considering perfect interface between both layer and substrate. Then, you could even model more than 1 layer in the coating to simulate a gradient. And look at this discussion maybe:
