How to assign surface hardness to part in ansys ? For example ; There is Ø60 shaft and the distribution of the hardness is like that. Surface hardness is 55 HRc (From surface to 9mm) and The core is 42 HRc.

Ansys EmployeeHi, Yes I agree the easiest is maybe to model a coated sample considering perfect interface between both layer and substrate. Then, you could even model more than 1 layer in the coating to simulate a gradient. And look at this discussion maybe:
