      Hello,

I'm having trouble advancing my simulation process. Geometry and Mesh are ok and functional, however when I try to open Fluent to edit the Set Up, that error message appears. Currently I'm using the institutional license of Workbench 2023 R1, so I'm at loss what the problem could be. Thanks in advance.

      Best,

      Allexia.

      Hello,

What error message do you see? Could you please provide more details?

      Thank you.

      Hi!

So, after editing geometry and mesh, I click to edit the Set Up in Fluent, like so:

Then after selecting the parameters above, I click start and the Fluent application opens, but it loads forever, and I can't interface with it.

After a while, the error message appears, and I can't use Fluent at all.

I've tried changing some stuff around that I've seen in previous solutions before but nothing seems to work. Could you help me? Thank you.

      Best,

      Allexia.

      Hi Allexia,

      1. While installing did the user run setup.exe as admin?
      2. Clear the cache of the Fluent application by renaming the Ansys folder to Ansys.old (type in windows search bar %appdata% or C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Ansys), rename .cfx and fluent.conf folder(C:/Users/username) and relaunch the application.
      3. Can you please check if any antivirus/ security software is blocking the Ansys application?
      4. Can you please ping and telnet the server using the command prompt? Send Snapshot.

Hi, thank you for the response. I am still running the test, but could you specify the commands that I should try for step 4?

      Best,

      Allexia.

Hi Allexia, Please try the below steps: Are you able to ping or telnet your server, in the command prompt try using cmd “ping servername” and “telnet servername 1055” . //server name must be replace by your server's name.

To ON telnet service go to start search “Turn Windows feature on or off” check box “Telnet Client” and click ok. Please let me know if you are able to ping and telnet.

If you are not able to telnet, then check PORTS and Firewall exceptions. Make sure Ansys default ports(1055,2325,1056) are open in the firewall.
