The FLUENT application failed to validate the connection Error

      The FLUENT application hangs for quite some time upon start up but then I receive the following error: "The FLUENT application failed to validate the connection.". Tried many of the suggestions in revious posts from older versions of the software. Currently using R1 2023 Student version. Any help would be appreciated.

      Is this 23R1 version a new install? Has Fluent 23R1 worked previously for you? Are you able to open Fluent 23R1 in standalone mode (directly from the Start menu)?

      Do you have previous versions of Ansys products installed on your machine?

        Hi, it is a new install. Fluent 23R1 has not worked previously as it is my first attempt to open it. I actually can open fluent directly from the start, not from the workbench. I also dont have any previous version of Ansys software installed.

      Hello James, 

      Can you try the following?

      Close all the Ansys applications.

      Go to Start>search “Product and CAD Configuration 2023 R1” and run it as admin.

      Follow the below steps: (while configuring products and unconfiguring products “select all” option)

      1. Install Required Prerequisites.
      2. Unconfigure Products & CADs.
      3. Configure Products & CADs.

      Rename the Ansys folder to Ansys.old (search %appdata% in Windows File Explorer search bar) and .ansys to .ansys.old (%temp%) 

      Launch the application again.
