SubscriberGood day fellow Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians!
I have a question that's been bothering me. I have analytically designed a PMSG and once an RMxprt design was created, the designs matched up closely. The masses, performance etc. no problem at all. Once a 2D Maxwell design was created however, the output power that was produced was roughly 11% lower than expected, i.e. 9.6 MW instead of 10.8 MW. I went through the 2D model and and noticed an option in the Model > MotionSetup option of a starting angle. I changed the starting angle from what was the recommended value, changing nothing else at all and the output of the PMSG sat at exactly 10.807 MW.
I would like to know what the implications are with regards to changing the starting angle, i.e does it change the model etc. Furthermore, are there best practices with regards to selecting the ideal starting angle?
Kindest regards!

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
