SubscriberDear sir or madam;
I have a question regarding the memory requirement of FDTD simulation.
As show in figure, for a complete same simulation file, the memory requirement of initialization and mesh are different. In 2015 Linux version, required memory is 385.19 GB; in 2020 Windows version, required memory is only 164 MB. I would like to ask if this is just because of version differences.
For the simulation files, I copied directly and ran in different computers, so the files are totally same.
Source type: mode source; single wavelength: 1550 nm.
Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeThe memory estimation is rough, and may not be accurate, and in particular for linux system, in addition to the version difference. I would suggest that you use the newest version and check if they are close.

SubscriberCould you please provide me with the 2020 R2.1 Linux version installation package?
We could not find it on FDTD website because maybe it is too old.
Thanks
