SubscriberHello,
The mesh was imported correctly, but I encountered this error while updating the mesh. "The mesh file exporter could not resolve cyclic dependencies in overlapping contact regions. Please try to Repair Overlapping Contact Regions."I intend to perform a thermal analysis on a gas turbine blade using ANSYS Fluent software, where the geometry includes: blade geometry, internal cooling channel geometry within the blade and domain
In the simulation, I considered three domains, so that in the middle domain, the hot gas impacts the airfoil surface, while in the upper and lower domains, there is regular air.
The geometry was Booleaned in the following order: First, the blade geometry from the domains. Then, the cooling channel geometry from the domains.
"What is the correct procedure for Boolean operations in this simulation?"
How can I resolve this error?
The geometry image has been attached.

Ansys EmployeeThat looks like something got scrambled in the slice operation: you shouldn't have the odd looking spikes above the "D" label. How close is the blade tip to the "C" surface?

SubscriberThank you.
The blade tip is 0.5 millimeters away from the surface 'C'
Excuse me. What is the meaning of the sentence 'you shouldn't have the odd looking spikes above the "D" label'?
What actions should be taken to address the issue above the 'D' label? -

Ansys EmployeeIf the geometry/mesh has added some interface zones due to proximity you may need to remove these. There are some automatic rules for contact for Mechanical, and these can interfere with the CFD meshes. Ideally for a CFD mesh the only interface contacts should be for sliding zones, everything else should be conformal.
