      Dear experts!

I have a quartz glass window in my heat transfer model and I am using the DO radiation model, how do I get the scattering and absorption coefficients(1/m) of the quartz glass?

                         Thank you inadvance!

      From literature?

        Dear Rob!

Thank you for your reply! Can the absorption and scattering coefficients of quartz glass be found directly from the literature? Or are the absorption and scattering coefficients calculated?

I assume so, but check the definitions you find against the Fluent documentation. I know we've found properties for some of the stanger materials on manufacturers sites before, but I don't have any links/references I can share.

        Dear Rob!

Someone said that in fluent version 2021, there is a thermal property parameter "glass-silica-fused-sio2" in "GRANTA MDS Database". I was wondering, if you open the DO radiative heat transfer model, can you get the absorption and scattering coefficients of glass-silica-fused-sio2 in the GRANTA MDS Database? I don't have the module GRANTA MDS Database in my FLUENT.

There is a Granta MDS add on for Fluent, but it's licenced separately, and I don't know what is bundled into Student/Academic Fluent in that respect.

Looking in the Fluent-MDS database (I have a licence) it's solid properties only, so good for stretchy-bendy type applications but doesn't contain the refraction/diffraction/reflection data.

OK, thank you very much for your reply!
