SubscriberHi Guys
I want to simulate the cooling systerm design for magnetic coupling in pumps using CFX. In CFX-pre I set inlet/outlet pressure, heat flux on outer sylinder surface.
And I want to get the cooling flow out of outlet and tempreture on outlet surface.
Simulation can run but the iteration is not convergent after several steps, no matter in steady or transient run.
Do you have any suggestion for this such kind cases? Very appreciate.

Ansys EmployeeHello Steven,
I recommend you to try modifying the TimeScale value (In "Solver-Control" option) and check it. I am attaching a best practice tutorial file regarding pump in cfx. Please refer to these links for appropriately setting up the case.

Hope this solves your problem.

SubscriberDear Chaitanya
Thanks for your suggestion, I change TimeScale to 1/rpm instead of auto timescale, then it works.... Thanks a lot...
BTW, I'm very familar with how to simulate pumps using CFX, but this is my first time to consider thermal transfer, do you have any best practice cases about thermal analysis using CFX/Fluent?
Best regards
Steven

Ansys EmployeeHello Steven,
I am glad that the suggestion on time scale worked. I will look into it and send you the files if it is available .
Thanks,
