To calculate the individual contribution of the multipole moments for a dielectric nanoparticle

We are interested in obtaining, according to Mie theory, the individual contribution of the multipole moments (namely the electric and magnetic dipole, quadrupole, octupole, and so forth), induced by an incident light plane wave on a dielectric nanoparticle (with radius r, and relative refractive index m) embedded in a homogenous medium.

Lumerical’s script mie3d(m,x) returns Qscat and it is known that the total scattering cross section can be calculated as the sum of the multipole terms. Is there also a script or method to extract each 2n-pole in a straightforward way?

Yes, you are right that mie3d returns the total scattering cross section. To decompose the total, you will need to do it by your own with post processing such as multipole-multimode method, or use 3rd party tool.
