SubscriberHi Support,
I have been playing around with the new feature in topology optimisation for 2023R1 and I'm struggling to understand exactly how the new feature 'Minimise Volume' based on a target works.
In the sample example I set a Maximum stress target of 1MPA and ended up with 3MPA which is 3x my target? see image below.
Tried the same thing on another simple model and again ended up with a maximum stress a lot higher than my target I set.
Are you able to test on your end or could I be doing something wrong?

Let me test at my end and get back to you.

Can you set the upper limit on the legend to 50MPa and check where these higher stresses are developed? Usually, the high stresses are close to the Fixed support, and it could be under the protected depth. -

SubscriberHi Subashni
In the sample file if I set my maximum stress target to 1MPA all the areas in red in the image below are above 1.1MPA when I changed my legend.
All the red areas are over my 'Maximum Stress' target that I set.
On the same sample I set my maximum target to 0.5Mpa and the legend to 0.6 to allow for a bit of room and all red areas are over and the max is 3Mpa
Seems like it could be a really good feature, just struggling to work out the best way to utilise it.
