SubscriberI am trying to topology optimize an implant. I am getting these errors about non-linearity in the problem so it's not running the optimization problem.
The curved plate and femoral head have a frictional value of 0.3. The geometries are non linear and large deformations is turned off. I feel the frictional contact is making the problem non-linear. Below are some images of the whole assembly:
Below is the image depicting the optimization region:
Can anyone comment on how to get rid of this non-linearity error blocking the optimization of my model?

Ansys EmployeeThe only way to eliminate these warnings is to remove all the sources of nonlinearities.
However, keep in mind, these are only warnings. The message advises you that if the topology results are converged and conditions are met, perhaps the result is acceptable, but check it carefully. If you are not sure, try taking the topolgy result into a new analysis system and perform a validation simulation to confirm that it is acceptable. You might be ok.

SubscriberThanks for the reply john. The optimization itself is not getting initiated. After hitting "Solve" for topology optimization, it throws these errors. Coming on the first part, Can you tell me how can I remove the sources of non-linearities? I have a frictional contact between the curved plate and femoral head. So how can get rid of it. I also want to know what does non-linearity have to do with topology optimization?
