SubscriberHello, I created two patch antennas one is a 2*2 and a 4*4. I would like one to work as a transmitter and the other as a receiver, how can i do that on HFSS? -

Ansys EmployeeHi Fatiya,
Have you created the two arrays explicitly in one FEM domain?
If you are interested in the far field patterns, you simply assign proper amplitude and phase to the ports. To do that, right click on the Excitation in the project manager, go to Edit Sources, and there you can assign whatever amplitude and phase. You can keep the receiving antenna with 0 for excitation and excite the transmitter ports accordingly.
If you are concerned about the power coupled between the two antennas, then respective S parameters can give you that information.
We do have specific workflows for finite array antennas (which is more beneficial as the size of the array gets bigger). If you have access t customer portal, submit a service request and we can guide you on the finite array workflows.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
