Turning off “Parameters

  I created a model of a bolt by revolving a surface around the axis of the bolt. Now when I go to change the diameter of the shank of the bolt or the threaded region a "P" pops up next to the diameter that I wish to change. How do I get rid of the P.
  
  Also, I am trying to create a thread on the end of this bolt. What I want is 1 3/4" x 8 Tpi. I get an error message regarding some offset surface. Where is that coming from?
