Are you using the free Student license?  That does not include the CAD interface to NX or any other CAD systems besides SpaceClaim and DesignModeler.

What you need to do is in NX, Export Parasolid.

If you use DesignModel, open DesignModeler, then File > Import External Geometry File

If you use SpaceClaim, open SpaceClaim, then File > Open, set type to Parasolid so you can filter that file, then browse to the file.

If you are using a Research license that includes the NX CAD interface, please reply and also say what version of ANSYS you are using.

The License is accademic, I used the Plug-In before and it worked just fine. I don't know what changed but suddenly it wont work anymore.

      The Version is 19 R1 or 19.3.0.2018111619

Furthermore I need it for a parametric study, where I defined the geometrical parameters in NX12 as expressions defined as DS_Paramter1 etc. Therefor the use of parasolids may be difficult.

btw. thank you for your reply

      gratings

I found a old version (Backup) of my project where the plug-In still works. seems to me there is something wrong with the Model in NX 12.

      Hello Erik,

At work, I have NX11 and the ANSYS NX CAD interface, so I am familiar with the process of bringing NX expressions into ANSYS as CAD parameters.

Are you saying that the old project is on 2019 R1 and it can bring in new parameters from the NX 12 file?

      Regards,
      Peter

      Dear Peter,

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. When I reinstalled the Plug-Ins I noticed that it uses the same for NX 11 and NX 12. It only checks if it is newer as 10.

here the log of the CAD configuration manager:

      <>
      NX Schema validated
      TEMP is C:UserseriksAppDataLocalTemp
      NX Version: 12
      NX version detected: NX 11+
      UG_BASE_DIR is D:ProgrammeSiemensNX 12.0

therefore I guess it is possible to bring in new expressions

      Regards,

      Erik

Try remove the '&' out of your path to the NX file.

Or you can just save your NX file to somewhere else, like C:Temp

      Thanks,

      Win
