Unable to insert a fracture !

Hi everybody
I am trying to insert a crack at the middle of the stone layer (the bottom layer in the photo below) to estimate the deformations in the sandwich panel after the stone cracking , but the option is not activated in my interface ! I tried to use model- insert - fracture and its also not activated
Can anyone help please
