      Hello everyone,

I come up with a question that the Fluent calculate normally but with a sudden, it shows that unable to parse as the photo below shows.

My system is CentOS7 which is supported fully by ANSYS. The problem just shows up without any symbol.

      Best regards

Centos 7.3 was supported with 18.2.
The error might be related to garbage collection. Try with newer version and update us.

      Hello Amine,

It seems strange that in the past the Fluent runs normally and I think it is the error of system instead of the software version of ANSYS. Since no one may face the similar problem, I think I should try to fix it in the system level. As a result, I think I should refer to the IT administrator to help solve the problem.

Thank you for your suggestion. If I fix it, I will update my progress here and try my best to help others who may suffer from it.

      Besh regards,

Check disc space: both for where you're saving and any tmp files.

      Hello Rwoolhou

The space of disk is enough with 800+G free. As for the tmp files, I need to check it. Strangely, once it showed up this problem, I can't do anything in Fluent including saving cas&dat. And I need to restart Fluent without reboot the system. And then it can work normally for several days. In generally, do you still think it is the problem of tmp files.

      Best regards

I think so: I'm sure I've seen it recently for a commercial client.  Their save area was fine but /tmp or the like was full.

      Here are some updates:

I double check the space of tmp files etc. I find that the space is enough and it doesn't grow bigger as the calculation continues. As a result, I change the file storage since there are two different physical SSD. As what I explain before, in the past the Fluent runs greatly as the files are saved in A disk(A is just for example). Once I move the files from B to A to calculation, Fluent runs turn out to be normal. So far so good. Therefore, I guess whether its storage area may effect the Fluent.

Further more, A disk(the one that bad) and B(the one that runs normally) are been set in the same machine.A is mounted is Data01 while B is Data02. Honestly, I don't know what's the difference between them. Though they are the Linux(CentOS) cluster, I run it in the head node with full administration under the root.

At last, I think, I may always put my file in the B disk to make sure the Fluent runs greatly. And it may be strange that I didn't find the exact problem causing it.

      So, that's what I experienced.

      Best wishes,

As I said that might be related to garbage collector kicking in although it should not. Either update to latest version or remove all monitors and monitor files. If you found out that is related to ssd then you found the root of your issue

Check the discs are actually on the same machine: LINUX can have mounted discs that can be physically anywhere on the system.
