Unexpected behavior, SC tools

Had unexpected behavior during the first stage of a design, and wanted to ask if there's another method, or if I'm using a tool incorrectly?

First attempt (v3 photos) was using the sine equation in sketch mode, then pulling a small round surface along the path.  The result of the sine equation was an unexpected group of many curve segments, with each having an unusual segment length, rather than a single smooth curve. The pull operation resulted in a solid with strange joints at the end-point of each segment, an irregular non-circular surface, and sharp angles between segments.

Second attempt (v4 photos) was to use the previous sine curve(s) as a template, and sketch a single spline from added reference points.  When the round
surface was pulled along the spline, the solid was completely distorted and not on the spline path.  scdoc files also enclosed.  Thank you.

      Hello maike

Please check the attached video demonstrating the above process of creating spline using sine equation in sketch mode.

Please let me know if you have any further questions on the same.

      Regards.
