Ansys Employeehave you tried with *CONTACT_ERODING_NODES_TO_SURFACEand what formulation is the SPH?. i dont think this is grinding off rather collapse of the bonds, what is your material propertiesm do include some failure conditions to erode the particels.
cheers, ram

SubscriberThe mesh is set to be a rigid body, and the SPH part is silicon carbide. The mesh can displace in y direction. I have tried to turn on penetration check in contact node to surface, but the penetration still happens.

Ansys EmployeeHi @hansenli, what is your material model used in here?, any hydrodynamic terms, failure terms,
Cheers, Ram

SubscriberThe material model for SPH part is Johnson-Holmquist-Ceramics. For the mesh part, the model is MAT_RIGID. I have also attached our contact setup.
Thanks, Hansen
