SubscriberI was trying to install the new version of Discovery AIM 2020 as im currently still on 2019. I installed the program successfully but the 2020 license manager failed to install correctly. I am unsure how the licensing works between versions. Do I have to "point" the new 2020 version to where the license is? Do I even need to update the license manager?
I still have the 2019 license manager installed as well. Attached are some of the errors I am getting as I am troubleshooting.
After failing to install the new 2020 license manager, even when I go back to my 2019 version of AIM i get a message that my license only has 28 days left on it. I still have my license file in the same place on my computer as well.
Please guide me in the right direction to get my license working again.
Thanks!
Sam

Ansys EmployeeHello seffa
The latest version i.e. 2020 R2 requires the latest License Manager. Did you install 2020 R2 license manager? If not, please try installing it. After installation, the current 2019 license manager will get upgraded to 2020 R2 and it won't affect your older AIM versions.
If you face any issues further, please send the diagnostics files as mentioned in below article:

SubscriberNaresh Patre I installed the 2020 version and it was not able to find my license file and my 2019 also stopped being able to find my license file. I followed the instructions and sent in the zip folder.

SubscriberNaresh Patre Let me know if you get it. I sent the email but again got the message that it was unable to send. Maybe the zip file is what is holding it back.

Ansys Employeeseffa It appears you may have a Subscription license. Can you try using the Discovery License Mode Manager to change the licensing to Subscription and then use your login when launching Discovery? You should not need to install the ANSYS License Manager unless you were provided with a license file to specifically install on your machine.

Ansys EmployeeThose are not license files. Looking at your account it does show a Subscription license, which doesn't require the license manager and only requires the login to the Subscription service.

Ansys Employeeseffa when you make the change in the Discovery License Mode Manager and set it to Subscription, the next time you try to run it will prompt for a login with the same account you use for the forum.
