SubscriberHi.nI need to define equation of state for aluminum in tabulated form in a very wide density and temperature range covering from solid to gaseous states (Al is dealt with as a fluid). I compared the corresponding sections of LS-dyna and Autodyn, and it seems that both codes require the user defined EOS subroutine to supply bulk modulus (or sound velocity) and upgrade the pressure and energy, and the energy equations illustrated in both manuals are for Lagrangian or ALE solver. nDoes this mean that user defined EOS only applicable to Lag or ALE domains? What about materials in the Eulerian domains?nAny information is greatly appreciated!nHT Shin -

Ansys EmployeeI would suggest that you just define the EOS as described, and let LS-DYNA or Autodyn worry about the rest. At least in LS-DYNA, any user-defined EOS is treated the same way as a built-in EOS.nn

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
