SubscriberI currently use Ansys 19.2, and I'm planning on getting a Quadro K5200, I've been told that, since this GPU is no longer been fabricated (EOL=End of life), its drivers are/might be outdated, and that it may cause problems in the future while trying tu run Ansys with it, and I want to know more about this topic.
Does anyone have more detailed information on it?

SubscriberIf you think you will get a faster solution using a GPU, you may find you can't use the GPU to accelerate the solution without having an HPC license. Even if you have an HPC license, you may find the solver won't use the GPU to accelerate the solution because the ANSYS doesn't talk to that specific GPU for computation while solving. Only certain GPU cards can be used for computational acceleration. Check the list of supported GPU accelerators for ANSYS 19.2
If you want the Quadro card to use as a Display Adapter only, for good dynamic rotation of 3D graphics, that card will be fine.
