SubscriberHello ,
I have simulated a truss and antenna strucutre in AEDT 2022 R3 and want to use the mesh from this simulation inside Ansys workbench so can anyone please suggest a method? I exported some of the available file formats like aedtplt, meshstat but cannot see an option to import them into Ansys workbench.
Steps will be of great help.
Also can I do mechanical fix stress simulation from inside AEDT for my structure ?
regards
Sid

Ansys EmployeeHi Siddharth,
Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys Learning Forum.
It is understood that you want to reuse the mesh generated by HFSS in the workbench. Please let us know your intention of reusing this mesh in the workbench to help us guide you better.
Best regards,
Praneeth. -

SubscriberThanks for the reply, the strucutre has been EM simulated in HFSS where the meshing etc.. is working fine. I now want to perform the static structrual analysis of the structure in Workbench. In workbench the meshing seems to be failing despite trying workarounds to it hence I was thinking of resung the meshin generated by HFSS in workbench for mechanical analysis.
On a side note is it also possible to peform Mechnical stress/strain analysis in the AEDT envirobment itself ?
regards

Ansys EmployeeHi Siddharth,
Please note that the meshing algorithm works differently for different physics. So, the EM mesh generated by HFSS would not help your case for static structural analysis in Workbench.
Yes, it is possible to do mechanical stress analysis in the AEDT. Please go through the AEDT Mechanical help document and structural solution - power resistor getting started guide for detailed information.
Best regards,

Ansys EmployeeHi Siddharth,
Yes, it is possible to access Ansys HFSS from Workbench by integrating Workbench with AEDT. Please go through - "Ansys Workbench Integration Overview" chapter of the HFSS Help PDF document. Alternatively, you can also go through this topic using the online help link - Ansys Electronics 2023 R1 - Welcome to HFSS Help.
Best regards,
Praneeth.
