velocity vector of water in water-air VOF model

  Only Water will result in Single Phase Behavior and VOF model should be able to handle it. nHowever running a pump with VOF after you add Air is more than questionable. n

  if no air is added in and water only contact air at the outlet, would the water velocity within the pump still be accurate?n

  Yes. If you are providing correct pressure boundary at outlet.n
