SubscriberI don't know why I can't view the crack propagation, Although SIF is greater than fracture thoughness

SubscriberANSYS can calculate the SIF and you can see that it has exceeded the fracture toughness, but it doesn't automatically propagate a crack when that happens.

Subscriberbut I found a lot of example that view the crack propagation

SubscriberYes, but you have to add more to a model to propagate a crack than you need in a model to just calculate SIF. Many times, you don't need to see the crack, you just have to know that a fracture would have occurred at some load.

SubscriberWell, Mr. Peter
What should I have to add to the model ??
Sometimes I need to calculate the extension of crack

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation. Click here to join this event to learn how to leverage Ansys Fluids on the cloud, thanks to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS.
