SubscriberI want to simulate the mixing of two liquids with different viscosities in a flat plate. The high viscosity liquid contains particles.
There are two cases, one is that the low viscosity liquid flows into the high viscosity liquid, the other is that the two liquids are injected alternately.
Which model should be used for these two situations?
Similar results are as follows

Ansys EmployeeIf they are miscible than multicomponent model if immiscible (they do not mix at molecular level) than multiphase model.

SubscriberThe two liquids are assumed to be immiscible.
Since one of the liquids has particles, I chose the eulerian-eulerian model.
But I am not sure if I need a multi-fluid vof model? My goal is to get two liquid distributions?
Another question
If I do not use udf to set the heterogeneous distribution of the high viscosity solution in the plate in advance, can fluent simulate the fingering phenomenon as shown in the figure?

Ansys EmployeeYou will need a VOF interface capturing technique and high resolution to achieve that. I will forget at first the particles and do a VOF run.
