Why is my unstructured cell zone disappearing?

I am trying to model a numerical wave tank with a moving wall and oscillating flap. I am using the layering technique for the moving wall and smoothing/remeshing for the oscillating flap. I have followed this video that is quite similar to my model (

What errors are you seeing? Pictures would be helpful.

Thank you for your reply, Rob. Here are screenshots of the errors I got and a screenshot of the mesh after the calculation stops.

Where is the piston, and which direction is it moving in?

The piston is the left wall and it moves back and forth using a sinusoidal UDF. The other day I was able to run the case I can't figure out what I did differently to make it work.

I should also note that the layering zone with the moving paddle works fine on its own. It is once I add the unstructured zone that the mesh does not update properly.

Is the unstructured zone required to move with the end of the piston?
