SubscriberHello Guys,
I have created a model in ANSYS APDL and ran a structural analysis. Then I exported the CAD model in IGES format and when I tried to import the IGES cad file into WORKBENCH, I encountered an error message. I can upload the ANSYS APDL file in .cdb format into the workbench using the 'external model' tool, but I wouldn't be able to remesh or alter the geometry. I wanted to do a dynamic analysis in the workbench using the structural mechanics model created in APDL. But I couldn't export the model (IGES) into WORKBENCH. Is there any solution to this issue?

Ansys Employeeiges export from meshed model in APDL may not work directly, what you can try is following Export the mesh using external model to Mechanical, (which you have already done) and now open the Mesh in SpaceClaim. You may need following setup:
The geometry in SpaceClaim will be faceted, and you may need some cleaning and/or rebuilding to do for the same.
