URGENT ISSUE for Penn State Behrend, Erie, PA

Yesterday, the computer labs would not launch Workbench.  The image of the error is attached.  Our IT department is not sure how to fix this.  The students are not able to complete their work.

Our IT department has an idea of what caused it.  However, they are not sure how to fix it.

I would like to have an ANSYS engineer speak with our IT department as soon as practically possible.

      Hi Phil,

Been a long time, hope you are well.

This screenshot does not show much but the error you included in the SR seems to indicate something is wrong with the IronPython on the systems. Your IT might have just installed some software/tool that 'overrides' the usage of IronPython shipped with ANSYS resulting in ANSYS not working properly.

There are two KM's that might help to figure out the cause of the issue described above. Please login to customer portal and search for KM # 2052658 and 2049451 but, essentially, it's up to your IT to figure out what exactly is the software/tool that causes the issue with IronPython on the systems.

      Thanks,

      Win

      Win,

Your quick response has been a big help.  Yes, we installed a new version of "automation studio" on our lab machines.  That version of IronPython interfered with the ANSYS Workbench version.  Our IT department was able to resolve the conflict.

You are a great resource for us.  Thank you.

      Phil
