Yield Analysis

  Hi there,
  
  I am running a simple beam model in ANSYS.
  
  According to the results, there are some points exceeding the yield stress of the material at the edge between the base and the beam.
  
  Just wondering if there was a specific rule built-in tool to judge if the beam yields or not? Do we always have to analyze it ourselves based on engineering experience?

  I would say ANSYS is the tool and it's your responsibility to determine and understand the results. If you are unsure about the results verify the models setup(materials, contacts, ect) and force reactions at a minimum.
